Basculegion (female)

Discover my new PokéUkiyoe illustration series, a series that represents Pokémon in traditional japanese style !
Basculegion (female form), jumping up the Obisian Falls in Hisui. Basculegion is inspired by the Parahucho perryi fish species living only in Hokkaido and close to extinction. A nice parallel with the extinction of Basculegion in Pokémon lore! I really like Basculegion, which has a design that looks very Japanese with its tail in clouds. I wanted to draw the female here, since I had already represented the male in a previous illustration of my Legends Arceus series. I also wanted to change from Magikarp and Gyarados that we see too often, to represent a japanese print with a waterfall.
