Suicune (Water Monarch)

I'm sure you like Suicune, at least a bit.. Who can hate him?
Suicune スイクン is nicknamed the North Wind (北の風) by the people of Johto, traveling the area at full speed. He is often seen near lakes and rivers. It's pretty obvious, it is said that he has the power of purifying water!
The name Suicune comes from Japanese and can literally be translated as Water Monarch. We have phonetically the kanji 水 sui (water) and 君 kun (monarch). The Lake of Rage where the scene takes place is inspired by Lake Biwa, in the Kansai region (the region that has inspired all of Johto). On one of the shores of the lake you can find the Shirahige shrine 白鬚神社 (lit. white beard), with its torii which always has its feet in the water.
